Carbon Capture Company AB invites forest owners, researchers, environmental organisations, certification bodies, market participants and other interested stakeholders to provide comments on the consultation version of Carbon Forestry Methodology – Improved Forest Management.

Carbon Capture Company AB is now publishing a consultation version of the methodology Carbon Forestry Methodology – Improved Forest Management, developed within the framework of the Carbon Forestry Standard – Sweden. The purpose of the consultation is to gather feedback from relevant stakeholders to support the continued development of the standard.

The methodology has been developed to be compatible with the principles of the EU Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming Regulation (CRCF). As the delegated act for Improved Forest Management has not yet been adopted, the methodology may be revised once the final EU requirements are known.

The consultation concerns the principles, requirements and overall design of the methodology. Technical parameters, such as conversion factors, buffer levels and detailed data formats, will be addressed in separate guidance documents.

We particularly welcome comments on:

  • the structure, logic and clarity of the methodology;
  • additionality and baseline determination;
  • quantification and the treatment of uncertainty;
  • long-term storage, reversal risk and buffer arrangements;
  • sustainability requirements and biodiversity co-benefits;
  • leakage and market effects;
  • practical feasibility for forest owners and other stakeholders.

Comments should be submitted in writing to info@carboncapturecompany.se no later than 13 July 2026.

Please indicate which chapter and section your comment/comments refers to, where possible. Please also indicate whether the comment concerns a principle that should be changed, removed or added, a requirement that is unclear, a potential inconsistency with the CRCF, or a practical concern regarding implementation.
